DockOne – Privacy Policy

Trial Version 1.0 | Effective 29/10/2026

Who we are

DockOne is marina management software owned and operated by DockOne Limited (company number 9469275) (DockOne Limited, we, us). This policy explains how we handle personal information under the Privacy Act 2020. Our Privacy Officer is Mason Roper, [email protected].

Two kinds of information

Marina Data. Marinas using DockOne enter information about their berth holders, customers and vessels. For that information the marina decides what is collected and why, and we hold it on the marina’s behalf. If you are a boat owner or berth holder and want to see or correct your information, please ask the marina first. We will help the marina respond.

User account information. For people who log in to DockOne we hold your name, work email address, role, login details and records of your activity in DockOne (such as login times). We are responsible for this information.

What Marina Data may include

Typically names, contact details, vessel details (such as name, registration and size), berth assignments and booking and payment status. We ask marinas not to enter payment card details or health information.

How we use information

  • To provide, support and secure DockOne and to fix problems.
  • To contact users about their account and the trial.
  • To improve DockOne, using information that has been aggregated or de-identified so it does not identify any marina or individual.

We do not sell personal information and we do not use it for advertising.

Who we share it with

Only with service providers who help us run DockOne, such as our hosting provider Vercel, database provider Supabase and email provider Bird, and only so they can provide those services. We may also disclose information if the law requires it or to prevent a serious threat to someone’s safety.

Where it is stored

Information is hosted in Sydney and the United States and may be processed by providers outside New Zealand. We take reasonable steps to make sure those providers protect it to a standard comparable to New Zealand’s Privacy Act.

Security

We use reasonable safeguards, including access controls and regular backups, to protect information against loss and unauthorised access or disclosure. If a privacy breach is likely to cause serious harm, we will notify the affected marina and, where the Privacy Act requires, the Privacy Commissioner and affected individuals.

How long we keep it

We keep information only while it is needed for the trial. When a marina’s trial ends, we return its data on request and then delete it, with copies in routine backups deleted within 90 days. User account information is deleted or anonymised when it is no longer needed.

Your rights

You can ask to see the personal information we hold about you and to correct it. Contact our Privacy Officer at [email protected]. For information a marina holds about you in DockOne, contact the marina. If you are unhappy with how your information has been handled, please tell us first. You can also complain to the Office of the Privacy Commissioner (privacy.org.nz).

Changes

We may update this policy and will tell you in DockOne before any significant change takes effect.
